Behind the Scenes: Making of Jollity Studios

As you may have heard (or seen) recently, Jollity is now Jollity Studios! And what better way to celebrate than with a brand-new website?

This evolution has been on the radar for Jenn and Lauren the past couple of years. As our company has grown and expanded, it became clear that we needed a brand and website that reflected who we are as creatives and as professionals. So, we put it on the docket and got to work!

Of course, being our own client was… an experience.

When managing client projects, we follow a structured process to keep things running smoothly. But when it’s our own website? Let’s just say we get a little loosey-goosey with the process…there were a few sidequests, some overthinking, and the occasional existential crisis over the best scale for typography sizing (#designerproblems #whatareyoueventalkingabout).

Aaaanyway… through it all, we kept each other on track, just like we do for our clients. And honestly, sitting on both sides of the process reminded us why we are the experts at what we do. It gave us a whole new appreciation for the challenges of branding and web design. We get why the “I PROMISE this is the last change” final approvals are tough. We get why copywriting takes forever. And by going through the ‘client’ experience so recently ourselves, we’re using those insights to make our process even better — because we’re always looking for ways to make branding and website projects smooth, stress-free, and (dare we say) fun.

So, Why Now?

To put it simply, in the wise words of Rafiki… It is time.

Websites aren’t meant to last forever. With an average website lifecycle of 2-3 years (and that’s being generous), our website was past its prime and ready for an overhaul. But beyond that, we wanted a website that told our full story.

Jollity has evolved to include more service offerings, a more refined brand, and broader expertise. Our new website better captures who we are today — a fun and quirky team that’s also professional, reliable and passionate about our work. Jollity Studios is a team of creative problem solvers who bring both strategy and technical skill to the table, and have fun while doing it.

So, What’s Changed?

Our name, our look, and our website—but not who we are. Jollity Studios is still the same team you know and love. Our services, pricing, and team are unchanged, we’re just doing more to help our clients reach their goals. We’re still your go-to crew for:

We’re applying all of those skills to client services, as well as our own assets, so continue to watch for new branding as it rolls out. 

Visually, you will see changes to our logo, color palette, and style. Collaborating with long-time design partner, Emily Fitzgerald, our new brand blends classic midcentury modern aesthetics with rich jewel tones and bold angular elements. It’s fresh yet timeless, structured yet playful, just like us.
