With a name like Weberson, maybe ending up in web development was inevitable. Luckily for us, he also has the experience to back it up. He joins Jollity as a Web Developer with more than a decade of experience building websites and a technical background that spans computer hardware, networking, and software engineering.
Finding His Way Into Web Development
Weberson initially studied Human Resources Management, but while in college, he also enrolled in a computer hardware course and quickly realized technology was where his real interest was. Before long, he was building computers from scratch, fixing and formatting them, experimenting with Linux distributions, and generally finding any excuse he could to learn more.
After earning his degree, he continued with a computer technician program focused on hardware, networking, and development. That’s where he began building websites in 2011, eventually diving deeper into web development and network management.
Since then, Weberson has continued adding to his skill set through courses in Windows Server, Linux, PHP, WordPress, graphic and web design, UX, and more. After briefly studying Information Systems earlier in his career, he recently came full circle and completed his degree in Software Engineering.
Weberson’s Role at Jollity
As a Web Developer at Jollity, Weberson focuses primarily on WordPress, but his experience extends across both the front- and back-end web development.
And while the tools and technologies may change from project to project, he describes his role pretty simply: “solve problems and make clients happy.”
In practice, that means troubleshooting the unexpected, finding practical solutions, turning designs into functional websites, and making sure everything works the way it should once it reaches the people actually using it.
What Keeps Him Busy
Outside of work, Weberson has no shortage of interests. A self-proclaimed nerd, he’s a fan of Star Wars, The Lord of the Rings, Marvel, comic books, anime, and trading card games. He also enjoys reading, watching movies and TV series, and playing video games.
Music and languages are two more areas where he’s always learning something new. Weberson plays guitar and saxophone and has recently started learning to sing. He speaks Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and is currently studying Arabic and Thai, with Russian and Hindi next on his list.
Another major part of Weberson’s life is martial arts. He practices and teaches Muay Thai and has also been studying Krabi Krabong, a traditional Thai martial art. He’s a big sports fan in general and especially enjoys watching soccer and cheering on his hometown club.
Most importantly, Weberson loves spending time with his wife, kids, and dogs, especially when it involves packing everyone up for a family road trip.
